Ramoji Film City is a sprawling film studio complex on the outskirts of Hyderabad, recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest film studio, and now a major theme-park-style tourist attraction in its own right.
History
Opened in 1996, Ramoji Film City was built as a fully integrated production facility for the Indian film industry, spanning thousands of acres with permanent sets ranging from palace interiors to recreated streetscapes, still actively used for film and television production today.
What to See and Do
Beyond the working film sets, visitors can enjoy themed gardens, amusement rides, stunt and dance shows, and guided tours explaining how films are made — a full-day experience that blends genuine studio infrastructure with theme-park entertainment.
Entry Fees
A ticketed entry applies, with different packages covering varying levels of access to shows, rides, and tours.
Best Time to Visit
A full day is recommended given the size of the complex; October to March offers the most comfortable weather for walking between areas.
How to Reach
Ramoji Film City is about 25 km from central Hyderabad, with shuttle services often available from the city.
