Dudhsagar Falls is one of India's tallest waterfalls, cascading down roughly 310 metres on the Goa-Karnataka border inside the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Name
"Dudhsagar" translates to "sea of milk," a reference to the frothy white appearance of the water as it crashes down the multi-tiered rock face — especially dramatic during and just after the monsoon.
Getting to the Falls
The falls sit inside a wildlife sanctuary and are typically reached via jeep safari from Kulem/Collem, since the roads are unpaved and rough — a train also passes a viewing point along the Braganza Ghat railway line, giving passengers a passing glimpse.

A sanctuary entry fee applies, along with separate jeep safari charges typically arranged locally at Kulem.
Best Time to Visit
Just after the monsoon (October-November) for the fullest, most dramatic flow; the falls can reduce to a trickle in peak summer.
How to Reach
Dudhsagar Falls is about 60 km from Panaji; most visitors book a jeep safari from Kulem village rather than driving directly to the falls.
