Rohtang Pass is a high mountain pass near Manali, one of the most popular day-trip destinations in Himachal Pradesh for its dramatic snow-capped scenery and accessible taste of high-altitude Himalayan terrain.
About the Pass
Sitting at an altitude of around 3,978 metres, Rohtang Pass connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valley, and is a gateway route toward Leh-Ladakh. The pass is snow-covered for much of the year and typically only accessible from around May/June through October, when snow-clearing operations open the road.
