Dwarkamai is the old mosque in Shirdi where Sai Baba lived for many years, and is considered one of the most sacred spots in the town alongside the Samadhi Mandir itself.
The Sacred Dhuni
At the centre of Dwarkamai burns the dhuni, a sacred fire that Sai Baba himself is said to have lit and maintained — the fire is still kept burning today, and its sacred ash (udi) is distributed to devotees as a blessing.
Living History
Unlike the grander Samadhi Mandir built after his passing, Dwarkamai retains a simpler, more intimate character, as the actual space where Sai Baba spent much of his daily life, gave teachings, and met visitors.
Visiting Tips
Dwarkamai is usually visited as part of the same pilgrimage circuit as the Samadhi Mandir and Chavadi — its smaller, quieter atmosphere offers a contrast to the busier main shrine.
