Lohagad Fort is one of the most popular monsoon trekking destinations near Lonavala and Pune — a moderately easy hill fort climb that becomes especially scenic (and especially crowded) once the rains set in.
Vinchu Kata — The Scorpion's Tail
The fort's most distinctive feature is a narrow, curving rock ridge extending from the main fort that resembles a scorpion's tail (giving it the name Vinchu Kata) — walking out along it, with valley drops on either side, is the highlight for many trekkers.
Pawna Lake Views
From the fort's higher points, there are sweeping views over Pawna Lake and the surrounding Sahyadri hills, particularly dramatic when monsoon clouds are moving through the valley.
